In Mayra Castro 's work, nature serves as a starting point for constructing psychological and atmospheric spaces that do not seek to portray reality, but rather to access an emotional or energetic state capable of capturing an imaginary moment or place. Her images are formed from fragments of memory and dreams, inhabited by subtle presences that emerge as dreamlike landscapes.

Her work frequently features elements of nature—mountains, flowers, flowing water—and themes such as the trace of humanity in the vastness of the landscape. The feminine, the nocturnal, and the animalistic return time and again, playing with the boundary between the imagined, the real, and the longed for.

Her work occupies a realm where forms slowly reveal themselves, inviting contemplation that allows the image to activate personal resonances. Rather than offering certainties, her painting opens sensitive spaces, places where intuition, memory, and perception converse without being confined to a single interpretation.
